Our collection of self-catering accommodations provides a balance of a rural getaway with convenient access to popular tourist destinations and attractions. There is lots to do and see when visiting NI, some of our local favourites include:

Strangford Lough

Strangford Lough is the largest sea lough in the U.K., with impressive scenery, jaw-dropping coastlines and picturesque settings, it encapsulates the tranquil beauty of Northern Ireland. You can walk the coastal route, observe the wildlife that inhabits the lough and even partake in water activities if you’re feeling adventurous.

Scrabo Tower

Scrabo Tower is a popular tourist attraction that was originally built as a memorial to Charles Vane, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry/Derry in 1857. The 165-year-old tower continues to stand strong, overlooking Strangford Lough and remaining a cultural landmark and symbol of the architectural style of the Scottish Baronial Revival.

Visitors can tour the inside of the tower and visit the exhibition inside.

Mount Stewart

Mount Stewart is an impressive 19th-century mansion that was home to the Marquesses of Londonderry/ Derry for over 250 years. Today, visitors can tour the mansion, catching a glimpse of the decadent lifestyle they led and observing the impressive life-size portraits of the important personnel who once lived there.

Mount Stewart is steeped in rich history and was often frequented by famous politicians such as Winston Churchill. The magnificent gardens are also world-class, with a collection of rare plants and even the oldest vine in Ireland.

The estate of Mount Stewart stretches for over 10 miles and even includes a seven-acre lake and surrounding woodlands. A trip to Mount Stewart is a must when staying at Coach Road Cottages.
